We review a ton of applications on BBGeeks, and most of them come from BlackBerry App World or the BBGeeks Store. Those are both good resources for finding free and premium apps, but sometimes discovery can be a problem. Plus, there’s something to be said for serendipity — finding that perfect BlackBerry app where you least expect it. That’s the idea behind Mplayit, the social app network. It has launched BlackBerry Arcade on Facebook, which lets you find and share BlackBerry apps with all of your friends.

Just head to http://apps.facebook.com/blackberryarcade/ after logging into your Facebook account and you can begin adding applications. You can click around categories and recommendations, or you can search by category (or by all categories). The interface isn’t much different than App World, but it’s the social aspect that makes BlackBerry Arcade a worthwhile service. When you get apps, your friends see it in your news feed. You and your friends can then rate and comment on apps. Plus, because Mplayit also works for the iPhone, you can share applications that are available on both.

Again, it’s not about shiny new apps, per se. It’s about the same old apps in App World, just more easily discoverable. BlackBerry Arcade works best, of course, if you have plenty of friends using it. You can all share and rate apps, making good apps easier to find and bad apps away from you and your friends.
