Developer Pagonce has created an excellent program that is of use to just about any BlackBerry user. Mobile Minutes Tracker does just what the name says: logs your monthly cellular usage, including voice minutes, messaging, and data usage. While some carriers offer their own version of this — there’s the My Verizon for BlackBerry application, Mobile Minutes Tracker works for nearly all major carriers in the U.S. and Canada, plus O2 in the UK. In addition to logging your activity so that you can know when you’re approaching your monthly limits, Mobile Minutes Tracker also has some more advanced features, some in a premium version of the app, which can help you better manage your cell bill.
The free version of the application gives you your balance and usage for minutes, messages, and data. It can also display your bill details and previous payments, plus notify you of any overcharges.
The premium version, which costs $2.99, adds support for family plans plus email alerts for when your bill is due and when you have exceeded your limits. It also comes with, their words, a “personal pin number for extra security and convenience.” Even better, you can pay your bill right from the application.
You can read about Mobile Minutes Tracker more in depth at Pageone’s website. If you want to give the free version a whirl, head over to App World for the download. Have I mentioned I love being able to link to apps in App World?
