Once you’ve gone visual voicemail, you’ll never go back. We saw a number of visual voicemail BlackBerry services pop up last year, and the medium has evolved even more since then. One of the more popular free services has been YouMail, which goes especially well with the VyMail client. There’s a new service just released for BlackBerry, and it might top all of them. It’s called HulloMail, and not only does it email you audio attachments of your voicemail, it also has a dedicated BlackBerry app.
The service doesn’t work quite differently from other visual voicemail services. After a caller leaves you a message, you get an email with an audio attachment. You can then play that, rather than calling into a number and entering a password. You can then share, delete, or save your messages.
With the application, you can easily scroll through your voicemails, choosing which to play and which to skip. That’s my favorite part about visual voicemail services. Messages needn’t be heard linearly. Some messages will have more importance than others, and they deserve first hearing. Also, the app syncs with your Gmail contacts, so you’ll be able to see even more information on who’s calling.
Check out the video for a full demonstration of the app:
You can get it by going to http://www.hullomail.com/ from your BlackBerry browser. That will lead to the download page. For right now it’s available only for the Curve 8900, Bold, and Tour, though, as always, support for more devices is promised.
