BerrySki lets you plan and track your ski trips

Posted by Joe on December 10, 2009

Snow can be a huge pain. For kids, it means something to play in and possibly no school. For adults, it means shoveling the driveway and a rough ride to work. There is one bright spot, though: skiing. I’m sure plenty of you have already made your inaugural skiing trip of the year and plan to make many more. If you’re an enthusiast, you might want to check out a new BlackBerry app called BerrySki. It allows you to view maps of resorts, even when you’re offline. Using a GPS unit, you can also track yourself so you can not only see where you skied, but how fast and how far you went.

BerrySki currently has information on more than 80 North American ski resorts. This includes parking, lodges, skier drop-off areas, ticket offices, lift types, runs, and restaurants. Because you download the maps, you don’t need Internet service — and given the location of some resorts you might have trouble getting an adequate signal. Using the GPS, you can locate yourself on the map. Not only that, but you can track your skiing stats.

This video explains how the application works.

BerrySki offers three different packages. You can purchase a map of one resort, for the 2009-2010 season, for $4.99. A package of five resorts costs $9.99, and access to all of BerrySki’s maps costs $24.99. You can purchase your BerrySki package here. It is available at the following resorts:
