DevelopIQ announced the availability of the 7digital Music Store for BlackBerry over the weekend. It’s the second digital music store available through App World, behind the Thumbplay Music Store. The 7digital store has a number of advantages over its predecessor, with a built-in advanced media player topping the list. As Gear Diary notes, the media player is “much better than RIM’s standard player” (emphasis theirs).
The store offers DRM-free MP3 files at either 256 or 320 kbps. That might make for some long downloads, though there is an option to download via Wi-Fi. You are then free to do with the files as you please.
The media player will not only play your tracks downloaded from the 7digital Music Store, but will also play other tracks stored in your memory card. The entire app works off the memory card, so the gig of flash memory on some newer BlackBerry models will do no good.
There is only a preview version available now, with a full launch on October 6. Users with a BlackBerry Curve 8900, Bold, or Tour can download the app from http://blackberry.7digital.net/ or from App World. The only difference is that how you receive upgrade notifications — via the app or via App World.

I really like Didiom. They have DRM music that you can bid on and the app allows you to stream music from your desktop. Fantastic app.
