Great tutorial, now i am getting notification via configured email on bb which is associated with facebook.

I have just activated the BB 8900 and have downloaded FB to it. There is a small icon top left for FB. Is that the only icon I get or can I get the larger one that is located in my downloads onto my main menu (I tried to move it but it seems to go anywhere BUT my main menu)?

Also I cannot seem to get my cursor to move to the little fb icon on the top left. How do I check it if I cannot select it? (I can get as far as selecting the speaker/profile icon)

@Joe unfortunately there is no way to have the app itself and not have the indicator beside your text/email indicator.

As for stopping all notifications – these are set from within your facebook settings. Log in on your pc and edit the settings as necessary.

I like having the Facebook app on my phone, but I just don’t want it notify me every time something happens. I don’t want the little facebook thing next to my text messages and emails.

Any way to get rid of these? I want to look at the app when I want, and only then find out that someone has sent me a message or whatever.

Ideas?

Whenever I upload photos to facebook via bb, the application automatically resize the photos reducing the quality of the picture. Can I set my bb device or my facebook account settings not to resize the picture everytime I upload to facebook?

Try this:

1. completely disassociate your BlackBerry from your facebook account – you will have to adjust settings in your facebook account to do this.

2. Do a battery pull on your device while it is still on and replace it after 30 seconds. Are your contacts back?

3. Log into your BIS account and resend your service books.

i deleted my facebook app because the photo upload doesn’t seem to work!.. :( .. and then pooof all my contacts was GONE!.. if i read this site earlier i shouldn’t have deleted the FB!.. ohhh gosh..

i cannot upload pictures from the facebook app. it says ‘ there was an error connecting to facebook server’ all the time i try to upload. i have data plan. and even if im connected with wifi. what could be wrong?

I was getting the blackberry facebook notifications but all of a sudden they stopped. On facebook are the notifications you receive as email the same as the ones you receive from blackberry. I was getting the little facebook icons only for my notifications and now im getting nothing !

@paul unfortunately the Facebook app is horrible and does not work properly at all.
