After using the FBook app the first time for half a day, my bold 9700 kept getting this Uncaught Exception error and rebooting itself to a white screen with error message: "Application Error". I ended up restoring to the factory default after visiting an ATT store. Lost a few hours because of this. I cannot be the only one...

@Holly

Ok so this is a semi common issue - There is no true fix soyou will have to try a couple things.

1. completely disassociate your BlackBerry from your facebook account - you will have to adjust settings in your facebook account to do this.

2. Do a battery pull on your device while it is still on and replace it after 30 seconds. Are your contacts back?

3. Log into your BIS account and resend your service books.

Hopefully that helps. good luck.

I decided that I didn't appreceate the BB Facebook ap anymore and just deleted 2 minutes before posting this. When it promted me to restart the phone I clicked okay. When it started up, there were no more contacts saved to my phone. This is very detrimental to my Job. Who can help? Unlike the previous guy, I did NOT do a recent back up.... :-/

Same here Lindsay. Once I removed the facebook app I was crash free. However it was after I spent a painful visit to the T-Mobile store and received a new blackberry in the mail. Oh well at least I have a refreshed blackberry.

My blackberry curve was crashing every 5-10 minutes (literally) and after reading a lot of BB discussion forums, it seemed a lot of people had the same problem.

I removed the facebook app, and now it's working perfectly.

Trouble is, I'm a facebook addict! I want the app! Does anyone know of an alternative?

does any one know how to uninstall the facebook application from the bold ? i am a mac user so desktop manager is not an option. The facebook app automtically adds a calendar to the device and this fact prevents missing sync from syncing...

I downloaded the new fbook app last month, and my curve kept freezing and randomly turning off. I took it to the repair place and they said the fbook app is the reason, they couldn't tell me why. So I deleted the app, and now my curve is ok.
