BlackBerry teams up with Facebook

It seems the whole world is on some social networking platform or another. Personally, we prefer Facebook. It’s a simple design, it’s interactive, and it does what it’s intended to do: keep you connected with friends and family. True, you could always access Facebook’s site through your BlackBerry, but this new partnership is a deeper integration.

Through a downloadable application, users will be able to send all Facebook messages right to their e-mail. They’ll also be able to send and view pictures, as well as posts on others’ walls.

T-Mobile will be the first to carry the application pre-installed. It will be free to have (aside from regular data charges you would incur with any emails). While T-Mobile will be the first to have the application pre-installed, BlackBerry users utilizing any provider can download the application for their phones on the official application page, so you can get your Facebook BlackBerry application right now, no matter who your provider is.

I have installed facebook on my blackberry but when i enter my log in details I get a message “you are currently on a service plan that dose ot support this application, please contact your service provider for additional information or to upgrade your current service plan.” I am with Ornage and GPRS is active. I can access all other web based applications and even use facebook on the web with the BB. can anyone advise what the problem is? Orange say I have all of the products needed and as it is 3rd party software they are limited to what they can do.
