Sling Media announces BlackBerry availability

Posted by Joe on January 4, 2008

All we have to say is: WOO HOO! Sling Media, creators of the Slingbox, have announced that the BlackBerry version of SlingPlayer will be available sometime in the not-so-distant future. For those of you unfamiliar, Slingbox is a device placed on top of your TV, which allows you to view exactly what’s on that TV on a mobile device. It was started for laptops, and is expanding to other mobile devices. It’s already available on Windows Mobile, Palm, and Symbian platform phones.

The best part: It’s a one-time fee. Just $30 hooks you up with this wonderful service. So now instead of flipping through various video portals on your trips to and from work, you can just watch whatever’s on your TV at home.

Unfortunately, we might not see it until the end of 2008. However, given the incredible potential of the device, it should be well worth the wait.
