16GB microSD cards available from SanDisk

Posted by Joe on September 29, 2008

This broke last week, though I haven’t seen too much coverage on it. Via Gizomodo, we learn that SanDisk is silently dropping 16GB microSD cards. They’re not widely available — we’ve yet to see 16GB memory cards in the BBGeeks store, though that could change in a few weeks.

As we learned earlier in the month, the new BlackBerry OSs will support 16GB microSD cards. If you have, or plan to have, OS 4.5.0.81 or OS 4.6, you’re in the clear. Just buy one of those puppies (rumored to be between $80 and $220), and you’ve got a removable amount of iPhone flash memory.

Just in case you need it, you can also check out how to install a media card on your BlackBerry.
