Okay, so none of these are actual features that will be included when the BlackBerry 9000 series rolls out (they’ve already started registering the domain names). But our boy Russell Shaw at ZDNet lists a few features he’d like to see, or see improved, in the next line of BlackBerrys. Our personal favorite:
10. Better SMS. On the BlackBerrys I’ve owned, SMS doesn’t seem to work too well. Works outbound just fine on my Curve, but sometimes incoming messages get lost in space. Some take hours to even wind up in my BB email inbox. I’d rather have them show up in a dedicated SMS window.
We haven’t noticed a similar problem, though we’re sure it happens. A few other notable suggestions: sub-folders in e-mail (please, oh please!), flash compatibility, and a better camera. Shaw says, and we agree, that the next generation of cameras should be around 4 or 5 megapixels, meaning the 2 MP pieces of crap we currently have will soon be a thing of the past. Yay!
