BlackBerry odds and ends: Jott, Facebook, 9000 series

It’s rather noisy down here outside the expo hall. It opens at 11:00 Pacific time, so we’ll be posting updates sometime after that. For now, here are a couple of BlackBerry notes:

  • It hasn’t even been around for six months, but the BlackBerry Facebook app has been downloaded over a million times. If you’re one of those million, make sure to click the link to check out our ultimate guide.
  • Missed this one on Saturday, but there’s a speech to text BlackBerry email application. It’s just what it sounds like: When you hit reply, you have the option to talk into your BB, and the application will transcribe your voice. The service is through Jott, which is a service worth checking out even if you don’t plan to use it for voice-to-text email replies.
  • Engadget Mobile has pics of the supposed BlackBerry 9000 series. Silicon Valley Insider calls it “Just like an iPhone, but crappier.” Looks like the same model we’ve been seeing for months on Boy Genius Report.
