9000 series in August?

We’ve heard a ton about the rumored 9000 series since last November, when our pals at Boy Genius Report found out that it is in the offing. However, we’ve seen plenty of mixed signals since then, and haven’t really been able to pin anything down. The latest word was that we were looking at a six-month exclusive with AT&T, with a launch in May/June. However, that latest word has seemingly changed. BGR is saying — as a rumor — that we might be looking at a July/August release. This is not going to make the BlackBerry community too happy.

Once again, there is no real way to verify this, but it is the latest word from the best source on the subject.

This could be especially bad news if the rumors of Apple order 10 million new iPhones is true. This would suggest that they plan to launch a 3G model soon. If they announce and release their device before RIM does, they might be seeing some business defections.
