With Valentine’s day coming up, we figured what better time to run a contest looking for the biggest BlackBerry Geek who would love a brand new BlackBerry (and we totally had this planned before RIM launched their campaign to ask BB users why they love their BlackBerry – but hey, great tie in)!

Tell us why you’re the biggest BlackBerry geek either via video or written word and you’ll have a chance to win some fantastic prizes! Sound good? Then let’s get to the details.

VIDEO ENTRIES

Here’s how it works. Make a video that’s two minutes or less, that answers the question, “Why are you the world’s biggest BB Geek?” You can interpret that anyway you want. It can be serious, silly, funny, heartwarming, frivolous…as long as it answers the question, it’s fair game.

The BBGeeks.com staff will narrow down all the video entries to three-five finalists and then announce the finalists here on the site on February 14th at 9 a.m. EST. Our readers will vote for the winner starting when the finalists are announced and ending on February 17th at midnight EST.

If your video is chosen as the winner, you’ll win a FREE BlackBerry (you pick between the standard, pearl or curve… your choice and YES, we mean the newest ones), a free year of BlackBerry Enterprise Server hosting (courtesy of Exchange My Mail) and a free user license for JiveTalk.

To enter, upload your video on YouTube and submit on our BB Geeks group page: http://www.youtube.com/group/bbgeekscontest between now and February 13th, 2008. If you don’t have a YouTube account, you’ll need to create one first. You must be at least 18 to enter and/or win.

WRITTEN ENTRIES

If you’re too shy to be on video, don’t worry, you can still win some great prizes! We’re also accepting written entries that answer the question “Why are you the world’s biggest BB Geek?” in 300 words or less at contest@bbgeeks.com.

The BBGeeks.com staff will narrow down all the written entries to ten finalists and then announce the finalists here on the site on February 14th at 9 a.m. EST. Our readers will vote for the winner starting when the finalists are announced and ending on February 17th at midnight EST.

If your written entry is chosen as the winner, you’ll win a 100 dollar gift certificate to Handango and a free user license for JiveTalk.

ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 18 years of age to enter and win either contest. BB Geeks employees and their immediate family members are not eligible to win.

CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE

The winners will be announced on the site on February 18, 2008 at noon EST. The video entry winner will be notified through their YouTube account via the “send message” feature. The written entry winner will be notified via the email address that their entry was sent from. The winners will have until February 28, 2008 at midnight EST to respond to their notification and claim their prizes.

THE MINOR DETAILS

BB Geeks will pay shipping expenses associated with the BlackBerry (the rest of the prizes require no shipping). If the video winner is outside the United States or Canada, they will be responsible for any/all duties/taxes. Within the U.S. or Canada, the BlackBerry winner can choose the carrier and model of the BlackBerry Smartphone they would like purchased. If outside the U.S. and Canada, the video winner will receive an unlocked GSM BlackBerry of their choice from AT&T or T-Mobile.
