Well, the BBGeeks FREE BlackBerry contest has run it’s course and I am pleased to present our two finalists for the written entries.
Unfortunately, we did not get the participation we had hoped for in the video portion of this contest, and therefore have no one to give away a free BlackBerry to. We will be running various contest in the future so we will hold onto the 1 year of hosting courtesy of ExchangeMyMail.com and offer it again as a prize at a later date.
The following entries were received for the written portion of our contest. I have kept the names of the entrants confidential, and ask that the rest of our readers vote for the most deserving entry by leaving your pick in the comments.
The winner will be announced on Monday, February 18th, 2008. Please make sure you are subscribed to the BBGeeks RSS feed so you can keep tabs on the voting and see who wins as soon as we post.

Finalist #1
Why am I the biggest BB geek? Well I would think the answer to that would be simple. I have had a Blackberry since the 950 came out many years ago, and upgrade to the latest model every 6 to 8 months.
My house I have an entire bookshelf dedicated to the World of Blackberries. Almost every model that I have ever used is located on a shelf with information about that model. In my house, right now, I have over 40 devices, some personal, some for business.
Did I mention that I travel the country training others on Blackberries as a profession? I didn’t, how silly of me. My belt looks like a “Batman” Utility Belt with the 4 devices I carry on a daily basis. And last but not least, I run a BES for myself and one other person out of my house. I purchased a separate server 2003 machine, loaded Exchange on it, and now run a fully functioning BES from my home. Any questions?
I am a member of multiple different blackberry forums, and have the distinct privilege to be able to meet the movers and shakers within the Blackberry Universe.
I use and test nearly 300 different applications (third party and RIM licensed) per year on many different devices. I thoroughly embrace the idea of being called a Blackberry geek not only by family and friends, but even those I train!
Finalist #2
I feel that I’m The World’s Biggest BB Geek because my whole life has to be scheduled through my BlackBerry. Here’s what I mean:
- My grocery & shopping lists are in my Memo Pad.
- My appointments, reminders and such are in my Calendar.
- I have pics of my kids for easy showing off.
- I have all my email accounts forwarded to my BB.
- My husband & I work opposite shifts, so we chat with Google Talk.
- I get all my BB news feeds via Viigo.
- I have Jabplite to balance my credit, bank & savings accounts.
- I have Ascendo Fitness calculating all my nutrition & exercise facts.
- I use InfoSpace Find It! for verbal turn by turn directions & to find local merchants.
- I use my BB browser for wapsites & Opera Mini for websites.
- I have Find My Berry because I am terrified of losing my BB.
- I have eOffice for correcting & creating reports & spreadsheets for work on the fly.
- I post to my BB blog on Blogger via email.
- And I have all my BB contacts on BB messenger and on Facebook.
- And I also have a couple games & songs for the rare times I have a moment to myself.
I feel that this list totally qualifies me as a BB Geek! What do you think?
